An
item referred to a letter from captain Taylor on board of the 361 tons Zephyr
of New Bedford, agent Thomas Nye jr., lying at Mauritius on 5 November
reporting he transferred his total catch of around 900 barrels sperm oil with a
British ship destined towards London. The Zephyr would be probably be condemned
since she was leaking as a result of a heavy gale in July.
