American whalers James and Emeral used for guano expedition according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 22 December 1863

An item reported that the whaling schooners James (at Philadelphia) and Emerald (at New Bedford) of Sipplean were that winter to be used for a guano expedition in the Caribbean. After their return were in the spring to be fitted out again as whalers.
