Dutch frigate Betsy en Sara lost in the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 20 December 1839

An item reported that the Dutch frigate ship Betsy en Sara captain Blaauwpot underway from Batavia, Dutch East Indies towards the Netherlands was lost west of the Boschjesmansrivier, district Uitenhage, South Africa. Of the crew were 14 sailors saved, her captain and 18 others died.
