An item dated Den Helder, Netherlands the 22nd reported that in the afternoon a day earlier the steamship Texel towed the Prussian brig Paul Gerhard into the Nieuwediep. During the storm of 3-4 December 1863 was she by high tided stranded off Wieringen. Just after many efforts was she with success refloated. Still in very good condition and suitable to be used again.
