Prussian steam frigate Elisabeth departed Vlissingen, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated Tuesday 5 April 1870

An item reported that on Friday morning the Prussian steam frigate Elisabeth (1) departed form the roads at Vlissingen, Netherland bound for Kiel, Germany. The relations between her etat major and the Dutch navy officers stationed at Vlissingen had been very well. Some Dutch officers studied in the past with some Prussians officers of the Elisabeth at the same academy. The commanding officer of the guard ship (2) gave a diner for the Prussian officers.

Of the Arcona wood-built screw steam frigates with a displacement of 2.866 tons and as dimensions 234’6” (waterline)-260’ (over all) x 43’3” x 21’, with 1.350 ihp and a speed of 12 knots, a crew of 380 men and armed with 28-68 pd guns. She was laid down in 1866 at the Danzig dockyard, launched on 18 October 1868, completed on 29 September a year later and finally hulked in 1887.
