Dutch merchant ships President Plate, Alcor and Cornelia chartered for the expedition to Lampong, Dutch East Indies in 1856 according to the Dutch magazine Militaire spectator of 1860

Part of the naval force which left on 10 August 1856 at 11.00 o’clock Batavia, Dutch East Indies consisted ot the Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Prins Frederik der Nederland captain Spanjaard, Dutch steamship Zr.Ms. Amsterdam captain lieutenant De Vries and the merchant ships President Plate, Alcor and Cornelia. Except for the Cornelia were also ships used for the transport of troops and stores. The President Plate was on tow of the Amsterdam. The Cornelia was fitted out as a hospital ship and served as the same as headquarters for the superintendent of the expedition. To this force were later added the Dutch steamship Zr.Ms. Admiraal van Kinsbergen lieutenant 1st class Van Bennekom, the civil government steam vessel Bennet and 5 patrol vessels (‘kruisboten’). Except for the Admiraal van Kinsbergen were all ships gathered on 12 August on the roads off Tjanti.
