British warships Shannon, Ranger and Arachne visited Willemstad, Curacao according to the Dutch newspaper De Curacaosche courant dated 13 June 1829

An item reported the arrival at Willrmstad, Curacao on last Saturday afternoon of the British 50-gun frigate HMS Shannon (1) captain Benjamin Clementi returning from a patrol. On Wednesday arrived the corvette HMS Ranger (2) captain Walpla coming from Jamaica. On last Monday morning departed from Willemstad, Curacao the corvette Arachne.(3)

1. 5th Rate, launched on 5 May 1806 at the shipyard of Brindley, Frindsbury, receiving ship since 1832, renamed St. Lawrence on11 March 1844 and broken up in 1859, with an armament of 38 guns.
2. 6th Rate, launched on 7 December 1820 at the Portsmouth Dockyard, sold in November 1832, with an armament consisting of 28 guns (20-32pd carronades, 6-18pd carronades, 2-9pd guns).
3. Brig-sloop of the Cruizer-class, launched at the shipyard of Hills, Sandwich 18 February 1809, sold in January 1837 with an armament of 18 guns (16-32 pd carronades, 2-6pd guns).
