Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Castor arrived at Batavia, Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 27 May 1837

An item referred to a letter dated 26 January written by captain lieutenant Ampt on board of the Dutch corvette Castor passing the same day Sunda Strait arriving the same day at Batavia, Dutch East Indies.(1) She left Texel, Netherlands on 6 October 1836 after a delay off Downs caused by storm and contrary winds was the voyage without problems. On 12th December was not far from Cape of Good Hoope the Dutch ship Kolonel Koopman hailed. She was underway with 120 military bound for Java, Dutch East Indies. Everything was well on board.
