Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Hippomenes, brig Zr.Ms. Pegasus and paddle steamship Zr.Ms. Cerberus underway from Den Helder, Netherlands towards Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant 5 September 1837

An item reported the departure from Den Helder, Netherlands of the Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Hippomenes (1) captain lieutenant Mill, the brig Zr.Ms. Pegasus (2) captain lieutenant Boelen and the steamboat Zr.Ms. Cerberus (3) captain lieutenant Van Franck towards Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands.

1.‘Kuil’corvette, on stocks at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands by P. Schuijt jr. 1826, launched Thursday 22 April 1830, docked at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 15-16 September 1837, accommodation at Amsterdam 1841, floating barracks ship for the 1st company of marines at Amsterdam 1844, condemned and sold on a public auction at the navy yard at Amsterdam to be broken up on 31 May 1854, dimensions 36,50 (between perpendiculars) x 10,0 (inner hull) x 4,25 (fore)-4,82 (aft) x 5,39 (depth below main deck) metres, 775 tons displacement and an armament of 28 guns (20-12pd guns/20-30pd carronades, 8-12pd carronades and 6-6pd guns).
2. On stocks at the navy yard at Rotterdam, Netherlands 1827 by P. Glavimans Jz., launched 1830, dry docked at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 4 November -13 December 1836 and 9-12 September 1837 and again in 10 October-19 November 1840 and then condemned and fitted out as accommodation ship to replace the Zr.Ms. Kemphaan at Rotterdam, Netherlands, public auction on 2 September not successful, on Wednesday 8 October again an auction but apparently broken up at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis in 1851, dimensions 29,8 (load line) x 9,2 (inner hull) x 3,4 (fore)-4,5 (aft) x 4,5 (hold below maindeck) metres, 546 tons displacement and 18 guns (16-30pd carronades and 2-6pd guns).
3. Paddle steamship, on stocks at Vlissingen, Netherlands, Netherlands by C. Soetermeer 28 February 1834, launched 28 May 1836, docked at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 24-30 January 1839, 25-26 March 1841, 6-12 February 1844, 26-31 July 1851, 4-11 November 1863 and 5-31 December 1856, coal hulk 1857, broken up 1863/dimensions 45,30 x 8,20 x 3,40 metres, 810 tons displacement, 8 guns (decision dated 17 April 1837 no. 51 fore 1-60pd grenade gun, aft 1-80pd gun, 170 hp horsepower.
