British sloop HMS Thais leaving Madras, British Indies for cruising according to the Dutch newspaper Java Government Gazette dated 27 July 1816

An item reported the departure from Madras, British Indies on 23rd April of the British HMS Thais captain Henry Weir for cruising.(1)

1. Sloop, launched at the shipyard of Tanner, Dartmouth, England on 19 August 1806, also served as fire ship, sold on 13 August 1818, with a 431 tons builders measurement and an armament of 18 guns.
