Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Argo and brig Zr.Ms. Courier leaving Deal, England towards the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 24 December 1840

An item reported the departure on the 11th from Deal, England of the Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Argo (1)  captain lieutenant Den Berger and the brig Zr.Ms. Courier captain lieutenant Willinck bound for the Dutch East Indies.

1. Laid down at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1833, launched on 12 April 1838, target 1851, last mentioned 1854, 900 tons displacement and 32 guns.
2. Also called Courier, brig, on stocks at the navy yard at Vlissingen,  Netherlands by C. Soetermeer on13 June 1835, launched 4 or 5 February 1840, docked at the navy at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 22-24 May 1844, while condemned tenders asked on 31 March at the navy yard at Vlissingen to break her up 1858, dimensions 31,50 (loadline) x 9,50 (inner hull) x 3,6 (fore)-4,5 (aft) x 4,9 (depth below main deck) metres, 546 tons displacement and an armament of 18 guns (16-30pd carronades,2-6pd guns).
