American whalers Clarice and Hero transported partly of their catch with the Nautilus homewards according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated 28 June 1859

An item reported that the ship Nautilus on the 27th at New Bedford, USA coming from Talcahuano, Chile with 300 barrels sperm oil and 25 barrels whale oil from the bark Clarice (1) for Edward C. Jones, New Bedford and 190 barrels sperm oil of the ship Hero (2) for V.&M. Starbuck&Co., Nantucket, USA.

1. Of New Bedford, measurement 237 tons, captain Brown, shipping agent Edward C. Jones, departed on 10 October 1857 towards the Pacific.
2. Of Nantucket, measurement 313 tons, captain Holley, shipping agents G&M Starbuck&Co., departed on 13 October 1856 to the Pacific.
