American whaler Julius Caesar sold to be broken up according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 23 August 1859

An item reported that the whaler Julius Caesar of New London of 347 tons after her arrival on 29 May 1839 from a whaling cruise was sold for ƒ 3.000 to Loren Corthell with the intention to break her up.
