British battleship HMS Orion arrived at Batavia, Dutch East Indies coming from Singapore according to the Dutch new2spaper Java-bode dated 23 June 1888

An item dated Batavia, Dutch East Indies 23rd reported the arrival of the British steam warship Orion captain Carr coming from Singapore. The edition dated 7th reported her departure back towards towards Singapore.(1)

1. Battleship of the Belleisle-class , laid down at the shipyard of Samuda Brothers. Cubitt Town, England as the Bourdjou-Zaffer for Turkish account in 1875, purchased by the British government in 1878, launched on 23 January 1879, completed on 3 July 1882 and broken up in 1913. With a crew numbering 249 men. Her armament consisted of 4-12”/30,5cm muzzle loading rifles, 4-20pd breech loading guns and 2 torpedo carriages.
