British forces captured German river vessels in Iraq according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 3 April 1918

An item dated London. England 1st referred to tidings received from Mesopotamia [Iraq] that British forces in the meantime already left Ana [Iraq] 70 miles behind them. Some Germans were taken prisoner of war and 2-4” guns mounted on river vessels were captured.
