Russian 3-mast schooner Mikus stranded on the Caloot, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated 6 May 1907

An item reported that the Russian 3-mast schooner Mikus captain Berg underway from Laguna, Mexico towards Antwerp, Belgium was stranded during the storm on the Caloot, province Zeeland, Netherlands. The lifeboat of Vlissingen, Netherlands and the gas transport Vlissingen departed the same afternoon from Vlissingen to assist the schooner. Another Nieuwe Zeeuwse Courant dated 7th confirm the disaster which happened in the night of Friday-Saturday. Next day afternoon broke the ship in two parts and was her crew taken from board by the lifeboat and set on land. The newspaper reported that now all efforts were done to unload the cargo of dye wood in lighters and then to try to salvage the inventory. The ship was considered to be lost.
