American frigate ship Robert Center loaded with guano arrived at Vlissingen, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche courant dated 20 July 1859

An item dated Vlissingen, Netherlands 18th reported the arrival of the American frigate ship Robert Center captain Arnold loaded with a cargo of white guano coming from Swan Island (Sombrero eilanden). She was the first ship loaded with white guano coming towards Europe.(1)
