Dutch frigate Zr. Ms. Prins Hendrik der Nederlanden cruising in the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 19 June 1851

An item reported that the Dutch frigate Zr. Ms. Prins Hendrik der Nederlanden captain jonkheer H.A. van Karnebeek departed on 15 April from Batavia, Dutch East Indies towards Makassar, Dutch East Indies.(1)

1. Frigate 2nd, laid down by J. Vos at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands on 3 September 1844, launched on 2 December 1847, renamed as floating battery Pollux in 1859, displacement 1.861 tons, dimensions 48 (load line) x 14,4 (inner hull) x 5,7 (fore)-6,2 (aft) x 6,6 (hold below upper deck ) metres and an armament of 38 (4-20”grenade guns, 20 long 30pd guns, 12-medium 30pd guns and 2 long 30 pd guns)-44 guns. Docked as the Pollux on 30 August 1859, undocked on 20 September 1859 and finally broken up.
