Her building as the Naseby by Peter Pett at Woolwich, England was ordered on 3 July 1654, launched on 12 April 1655, renamed Royal Charles on 23 May 1660 and captured by the Dutch during the famous raid on Chatham, England on 12 June 1667, never commissioned in the Dutch navy and finally broken up in 1673. Dimensions 131’0” keel)x 42’0” (original)-42’6” (beam) x 18'0", draught 21'6", 1.229 long tons (original)-1.258 tons burden, an armament of 76-86 guns and a crew numbering 400-650 men. The Dutch admiralty of the Maze decided on 17 February 1672 to sell her for breaking which to be executed within the Dutch frontiers. She was not earlier sold as on 24 April 1673in public for ƒ 5.000 to a certain person named Kerckhoff.
