Genoese galley St. George captured Tunisian pirates according to the Dutch newspaper Hollandsche historische courant dated 19 June 1749

An item dated Genoa 3rd reported that the galley St. George part of the squadron fitted out by Genoa to chase for the African pirates and commanded by the Genoese nobleman marquis Oderico captured 4 Tunisian pirates armed with totally 68 guns and which were sent towards St. Bonaficio. Of the pirates were 100 men still alive and made prisoner, the remaining were killed in the fight.
