American submarine USS G 2 (1909) on 1 September 1915

Displacement 400 (surfaced)-540 (submerged) tons, building allowed in 1909, first material immediately ordered when building started, keel laid down after 6 months, after 6 years + 6,5 months ready for 90%, contracted to be built within 28 months, so at least 4,5 years too late delivered. (1)

1. Laid down as the USS Tuna at the shipyard of Lake Torpedo Boat, Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA on 20 October 1909, launched on 10 January 1912 and commissioned on 1 December 1913.
