American pre dreadnought battleship USS Oregon (BB-3) 1891-1956

Of the Indiana-class. Building ordered on 30 June 1890, laid down by Union Iron Works, San Francisco, California, USA on 19 November 1891, launched on 26 October 1893, sponsored by Daisy Ainsworth, commissioned on 15 July 1896, decommissioned on 27 April 1906, recommissioned on 29 August 1911, decommissioned on4 October 1919, declared not to be used for war purposes anymore in January 1924, loaned to the State Oregon and berthed as monument annex museum at Portland, redesignated as IX-22 in February 1941, stricken on 2 November 1942, sold and stripped and afterwards returned her hulk back to the US Navy which used her as an ammunition hulk during the battle of Guam in 1944, she stayed there and finally sold to be broken up on 15 March 1956 which was done in Japan. Nicknamed Bulldog of the navy.
