Canadian navy increasing according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1939 no. 4

An item referred to the magazine U.S.R. dated 5 January 1939 reporting that Canadian navy consisted at that moment of 6 destroyers and 4 minesweepers and the strength further was to be increased. Three years earlier were the just 4 destroyers and 1 minesweeper. There were enough potential sailors available in Canada. In 1938 were there 3.337 candidates of who just 240 were engaged.
