Germany allowed to have some warships according to the Treaty of Versailles according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1920 no. 5


An item referred to the Journal de la Marine dated 10 July 1920 reporting the warships Germany was allowed to keep according to the Treaty of Versailles. It contained 6 battleships (Schlesien, Schleswig-Holstein, Hannover, Hessen, Elsass and Braunschweig), 6 light cruisers (Berlin, Hamburg, Arkone, Medusa, Amazone and Thetis), 12 destroyers (G 8-10-11, S 18-19, V 23-5-6- and T 185-190-1906) and 12 torpedo boats (99, 102-110 and 113). Article 190 ordered that the number of those ships was not to be increased and that the lifespan was battleships and cruisers 20 year and destroyers and torpedo boat 15 years starting from the date of launching.
