Polish Orkan-class fast attack crafts Orkan, Piorun and Grom 1992-


Orkan-class or project 600 is called by the NATO Sassnitz-class consisting of three vessels. All three laid down at the VEB Peenerwerft shipyard, Wolgast, Germany bought as unfinished hulls and completed at the Northern Shipyard, Gdansk, Poland. With a displacement of 369 tonnes and gross tonnage of 169 tons are the dimensions 48,90 x 8,65 x 2,15 metres or 160.5 x 28.5 x 7,1 feet. The 3-3.970kW M520 diesel engines allowed a speed of 36 knots and a range of 1.620 nautical miles. Their crews numbered 33 men. The armament consists of 8 RBS-15 Mk. III anti-ship missiles, 1-7,6cm/3”AK-176 gun, 1-3cm/1.2”AK630 gun close in weapon system and 2 Strela 2M launchers. In 2008 modernized.
