Chilean battleship Almirante Latorre launched in England according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1913-1914 no. 8
An item reported that at the shipyard of Armstrong, England the battleship Almirante Latorre built for Chilean account was launched. Coal bunker capacity 3.500 ton, A armour belt of 22,9cm thick sloping to 10,2cm. Bow and stern were not protected by a vertical armour. Above was an armoured deck with a thickness of 15,2cm. The gun turrets and the conning tower were protected by respectively 25,3 and 30,4cm. A tripod leaning backwards was fitted out with two observation platforms, one below the edge of the funnel, the second halfway the top.(1)

Laid down at the Armstrong Whitworth shipyard, Elswick, England on 27 November 1911, launched on 27 November 1913, acquired by England on 9 September 1914, commissioned as the HMS Canada on 15 October 1915, decommissioned in March 1919, sold to Chile and retaining her original name in April 1920, commissioned in the Chilean navy on 1 August 1920, modernized 1929-1931, decommissioned in October 1958 and finally broken up in Japan in 1959.
