An item dated Tokyo, Japan 12th reported that despite the huge damage caused by the earthquake in Japan the naval strength hardly was weakened. The Amagi, Mikasa and Naka were the most damaged ships, damage estimated to be 11 million yen. The Amagi was to be replaced, the completion of the Naka stopped and the Mikasa was to be repaired and to be used as target ship. The destroyed naval establishments including the technical laboratory, survey section, medical institute and the powder magazine at Yokohama, despite being heavy damaged, were immediately to be repaired.
