England protested against changing elevation of battleships guns according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1924 no. 6

An item referred to the Naval and Military Record dated 6 August 1924 reporting that the British government stated to the USA and Japan that altering the elevation of the guns of the battleships or increasing the range was a violation of the Washington Naval Treaty.(1)

1. Also known as the Five-Power Treaty and concluded on 6 February 1922 and ratifications exchanged on 17 August 1923. USA, United Kingdom, Italy, Japan and France agreed to limit the building of battleships, battle cruisers and aircraft carriers.
