An item referred to the magazine le Yacht reporting that the French cruiser d’Entrecasteaux executed a trial to determine the coal consumption with a horsepower of 11.000 ho. With a maximum speed of 18,7 miles, 1.647 hp and 101 rpm was the consumption below the contracted consumption. A second item reported that at the measured mile with 13.000 hp a speed of 19,13 miles was achieved. A 24 hour trial was yet to follow.(1)
