Italian navy acquired a gyroscopically device allowing torpedoes following zagzag course according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1924 no. 6

An item referred to the Marine Rundschau dated July 1924 reporting that the Italian navy acquired a gyroscopically device make it possible that torpedoes would follow a zigzag course. Such a torpedo fired in the wake of a ship would after every time the course was changed, passing the wake on a decreased distance of the same ship ending in hitting the ship of one of her screws.
