US navy wanted new 10.000 tons cruisers according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1924 no. 6

An item referred to the magazine Marine Rundschau dated August-September 1924 reported that the cruisers asked for by the US navy had a displacement of 10.000 ton, a horsepower of 100.000 hp allowing a speed of 33 miles, a crew numbering and an armament of 12-20,3cm guns and 9 anti aircraft machineguns. Probably were these cruisers not protected by a belt and the ammunition magazines protected by an armour deck.
