Coal consumption of the British battleship HMS Superb during her trials according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1910-1911 no. 3
An item referred to the German magazine Schiffbau dealing with the trials of the British warships completed in 1909. The HMS Superb (1) fitted out with Babcock&Wilcox boilers had during her 30 hours trial with a speed of 13,5 miles and a horsepower of 5.900 hp a coal consumption of 2,32lbs per hour/hp, 30 hours trial with a speed of 19,5 miles, 16.900 hp a coal consumption of 1,62 lbs per hour/hp and during the 8 hours trial with a speed of 21 miles and 25.400 hp and a coal consumption of 1,38 lbs per hour/hp.

1. Building ordered on 26 December 1906. Building costs 1.744.287 pond sterling. Laid down at Armstrong Whitworth, Elswick, England with yard number 800 on 6 February 1907, launched on 7 November 1907, commissioned on 29 May 1909, completed 19 June 1909, reserve at Sheerness, England on 26 April 1919, decommissioned on 26 March 1920, gunnery target in May 1922 and sold to Stanlee Shipbreaking Company, Dover, England to be broken up in December 1922. Bellerophon-class dreadnoughts consisting of the Bellerophon, Superb and Temeraire preceded by the Dreadnought and succeeded by the St. Vincent-class.
