The new French destroyers according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1924 no. 4

An item reported that the French 2.400 tons destroyer Jaguar was to be commissioned before the end of 1924 and it was believed that she was the fastest destroyer of the world. The Panthère was to be launched on short notice just like the Leopard at the Chantiers de la Loire. Work continued on the Chacal at Penhoet and the Tigre at Chantiers de Bretagne, Nantes. The Lynx was less completed although it still seemed to be possible to complete her at time within the original program,. The armament of the destroyers was still to be altered while the arrangement of the 13cm guns on twin mountings above 9 meters above the waterline was believed to be insufficient. The new 2.400 tons destroyers were probably to be armed with 14cm guns firing 36 kilo projectiles and which gun seemed to be the ideal heavy quick firing gun for destroyers.
