England not changing King George V battleships class designs according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1938 no. 5

An item referred to the magazine U.S.R. dated 28 April 1938 reported that what ever the shipbuilding policy of the United Kingdom in the near future would became, it was certainly that nothing was to be changed in the King George V-class designs. Their main armament remained 35,6cm/14” gun. The armour was to give protection against 40,6cm/15” shells. The belt and the protection of vital parts was with a thickness of 43cm/16.9” sufficient against the heaviest shells and bombs.
