An item referred to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens reporting that the trials of the French armoured cruiser Pothuau (1) were very satisfying. During a 21 hours trial developed she a horsepower of 6.845 ihp achieving a speed of 17,787 miles with an actual coal consumption of 0,791 kilo/ihp/hour in stead of the calculated 0,8-9,85 kilo.
