Italian armoured cruiser Vittor Pisani launched according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1895-1896 No. 7

An item reported the launching of the armoured cruiser Vittor Pisani at Castellamare di Stabia, Italy in August. Displacement 6.500 tons and dimensions 99 x 18 x 7,20 metres. The two triple expansion steam engines developed with natural draft 8.600 ihp and with forced draft 13.000 ihp allowing a speed of 20 miles. Over the complete length was a nickel steel belt of 15cm thickness. The armament consisted of 12-15,2cm guns, 6-12cm guns, 10-5,7cm guns and some smaller calibre guns, all quick firing guns.(1)

1.The Vettor Pisani was laid down on 1 February 1892, launched on 23 September 1896 and completed on 1 May 1898. Part of the Vettor Pisani-class. Her sister ship Carlo Alberto was laid down on 7 December 1892, launched on 14 August 1894 and completed on 1 April 1899.
