Japanese naval budget for 1897-1898 according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1897-1898 No. 6

An item referred to the magazine le Yacht reporting that the common Japanese budget for 1897-1898 consisted of 25 million, which was 5 million more as the budget before. The extra ordinary budget however was decreased from 175 million to 168 million. Japan was executing a shipbuilding program to be completed in 1906 and resulting in 65 ships and 126 torpedo boats.
