Of the Paraguay-class consisted of the Humaita and ship Paraguay (C1). Both laid down at Odero, Sestri Ponente, Italy in April 1929, launched in1930, commissioned in May 1931 and stricken by 1982. With a displacement of 745-865 (full load) tons and as dimensions 70,56 (over all) x 10,67 x 2,8 metres or 231’6” x 35 x 7’6”. The machinery consisted of 2 Parsons geared turbines and 2 oil fuelled Thornycroft boilers supplying 6.000 shp allowing a speed of 17 (18,5?) knots. Oil bunker capacity 150 tons allowing a speed of 16 knots a range of 1.700 nautical miles. The armour consisted of 0.33” thick deck, a 0,5” thick belt while the conning tower was protected by 0.75” thick armour. Their crew numbered 86 men. Armament consisted of 2x1-4.7” guns, 3x1-3” anti aircraft guns and 2-4cm anti aircraft guns and fitted out for mine-laying.
