Swedish coastal defence ship Wasa launched according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1901-1902 no. 11

An item referred to the French magazine le Yacht reporting that the small Swedish coastal defence ship Wasa was launched. She was an improved Dristigheten-design with a displacement of 3.650 tons and as dimensions 87,50 x 15 x 5 metres. The armour consisted of a 17,8cm thick belt over a length of 50 metres amidships, the two gun turrets were protected by 20cm thick armour, above the belt was a 12,5cm thick redoubt and over the complete length of the hull a 4,8cm thick deck. The machinery consisted of 2 triple expansion steam engines and Yarrow water tube boilers developing 5.500 ihp and allowing a minimum speed of 16,5 miles. The armament consisted of 2x1-21cm guns in turrets fore and aft, 6-15,2cm guns in turrets at the broadsides of which 4 were able to fire straight ahead or straight aft, 10-5,7cm guns, 2-3,7cm guns and 2 submerged torpedo tubes.(1)

In the 1903s when she was in such a worse condition that she was converted into a dummy ship resembling the powerful Sverige-class. Launched at Bergsunds Mekaniska Verkstads AB, Finnboda Varv, Stockholm, Sweden on 29 May 1901, commissioned on 6 December 1902 and stricken on 15 March 1940.
