Kon. Mij. De Schelde, Vlissingen, Netherlands delivered steam engines for steam launches of the Department of Colonies in 1884

An item reported the delivery of 4 steam engines 4½” x 4½”x 5” (nrs. 58-61) and 6 steam boilers 2’9¾” x2’6¼”and 1 fire (nos. 84-89) complete with appendages to the Department of Colonies to be placed in steam launches. Order placed on 9 September 1884.

Building costs engines totally ƒ 9.439,40 (material ƒ 3.413,16-labour ƒ 3.964,63-expenses ƒ 2.061,61)
Building costs 6 boilers of which 2 without appendages totally ƒ 5.439,70 (material ƒ 1.874,25-labour ƒ 2.297,71-expenses ƒ 1.267,74)
Totally building costs ƒ 14.879,10 resulting in a profit of ƒ 3.279,10.
