German inland motor tug Alie executing trials according to the Dutch magazine Schip en Werf dated 8 March 1935

An item reported that the inland motor tug Alie executed her trial on the Nieuwe Waterweg, Netherlands. She was built by Scheepswerf Van Vlaardingen, Gouda. Netherlands, bought and fitted out with 1-6 cylinder 300hp diesel by Motoren-Werke Mannheim A.G. former Benz and now sold to the firm of Wilhelm Gestmann, Duisburg-Ruhrort, Germany. This firm had already 10 tugs in service and the Alie was to be used for harbour service and in the Rhine shipping. The machinery was controlled on the bridge. A pneumatic reversible Benz four stroke engine was available for fast and easy manoeuvring in harbours. Dimensions 20 x 4.50 metres.
