Sailor of American monitor USS Puritan accused of sabotage sentenced to death according to the Dutch newspaper Provinciale Noordbrabantsche en ‘s Hertogenbosche courant dated 2 May 1898


An item dated Key West, USA 29th reported that a sailor of the American monitor USS Puritan was sentenced to death by a fire squad.(1) The sailor accused of sabotage said to be Spanish and was surprised when making a hole in the powder magazine.(2)
