Russian warships at Helsingfors threatened by German invasion in Hangö, Finland according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 6 April 1918

An item dated Petrograd, Russia 5th reported that the arrival of German ships at Hangö, Finland caused a critical situation for the Russian warships lying at Helsingfors, Finland which lacking icebreakers could not escape to Kronstadt. The Russian fleet at Helsingfors consisted of 2 battleships, a squadron torpedo boats, 5 submarines and several transports.
