Part of French naval officers not pleased with new flotilla leaders according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1936 no. 3

An item referred to the magazine N.M.R. dated 2 April 1936 reported that not all French naval officers were enthusiastic about the new flotilla leaders. Critic stated that the ships were too fast (35 knots was enough) and too expensive and were negative about the lacking of armour and a floatplane.
