Swedish navy lacked budget to replace coastal defence ship Oscar II according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1935 no. 4

With our thanks

An item referred to the Marine Rundschau dated May 1935 reporting that the Swedish defence budget over 1935-1936 was with 119.431.300 crones decreased with 4,5 million when compared with the budget the year before. For the navy was 39,5 million available meaning that again the already since 1927 intended replacement of the Oscar II was postponed.(1)
