An item reported that the Japanese destroyer Akatsuki of 360 tons, 6.500 ihp horsepower and a speed of 30 miles was in the meantime launched, beginning her trials on 21 November which were very satisfying.(1)

Laid down by Yarrow Shipbuilders, Clyde, England on 10 December 1900, launched on 13 February 1901, completed on 14 December 1901, struck a mine off Port Arthur on 17 May 1904 and written off on 19 October 1905.
