Russian steam tug Rjev active on the Danube according to a CIA report dated 8 July1948

An item dealing with the tugs on the Danube, Romania reported that the Russian steam tug Rjev which was the former Romanian tug Negoiul requisitioned by the Russians at the end of 1945. Fitted out with a 300-350hp steam engine and a maximum speed of 14 kilometres. Built in the Netherlands and black painted with a white stripe. Between June and August 1947 used on the route Ismail, Ukraine and Braila, Romania for towing oil barges unloaded at Reni and barges loaded with Pirita or red clay from Czeschoslovakia which were unloaded at Ismail and from there by rail sent to Russia for the porcelain industry.
