Yugoslavian navy ordering all private owned motor vessels in the Adriatic to report to the Directorate General of the Merchant Navy according to a CIA report dated 15 June 1948

An item referred to an order of the vice admiral Josip Cerni (1) and rear admiral Duro Loncarevic (2) dated 19 March that all private owned motor vessels in the Adriatic were to gather at the reserve points of the Directorate General of the Merchant Navy (GDTM=Generalna Direkcija Trgovske Mornarice). After the order was published were GTDM inspectors active with examining the vessels. Part of the vessels -all guarded by sentries- were prepared to be fitted out with machineguns and light guns of different types. Officially was stated that the vessels were needed for the Yugoslavian youth summer camps to be organized along the Adriatic coastline.

Notes

2. Similar to Duro Loncarevic (Gusinje 16 April 1920- Beograd 1 April 1987), who also was political commissary of the Yugoslavian navy?
