An item reported that the Albanian navy possessed 8 motorboats of which 5 of Italian and 3 of Soviet origin with a tonnage which was the half of the coast guard boats used by the Greek navy. The armament consisted of one canon of unknown calibre and a mix of Italian Breda’s and Soviet origin. Speed 10-12 miles and with a crew numbering 4-5 men naval personnel and M.R. One boat was already for two weeks lying at Sarande with a seriously engine damage. Normally she patrolled between Cape Stilo and Himara. The second one was stationed at Vlone patrolling between Vlone-Saseno and Himare and with the remaining 6 stationed at Durres although the half was suffering from engine problems and not used. Lacking skilled mechanics and sufficient spare parts hampered repairs.
