Building of the Soviet tug Tadzhik for the Reydtanker Steamship Company at Baku, Azerbeidzjan according to a CIA report dated 3 January 1954

An item dealing with so-called stockpiling within the Soviet Union merchant fleet especially the Reydtanker Steamship Company reported the building the building of two twin screw motor tugs named Tadzhik and Kazakh each with a horsepower of 800hp by the Baku Ship Repair-Shipbuilding Yard (zavod) imeni Vano Sturua. The concept of stockpiling was that times of war the tugs within short notice could wholly partially serve as military transport/auxiliary vessel without needing specially additional refitting.
